Thoughtful materiality and custom millwork can transform a minimalist new-build into a warm and highly functional family home. Working within a clean architectural shell, we introduced architectural detailing, integrated storage, and decorative lighting throughout to create greater definition and character. Warm oak paneling, natural stone, and layered textiles soften the modern architecture, while bespoke furnishings and carefully curated artwork bring depth and personality. Every element was considered to support daily life, resulting in a home that feels cohesive, inviting, and distinctly personal.
The kitchen was reimagined to establish a stronger sense of hierarchy between adjoining spaces. Travertine-clad walls, walnut shelving, and custom paneling introduce warmth and texture, while new partitions, slatted screens, and a lowered soffit create subtle transitions between the kitchen, hallway, breakfast area, and living spaces.
A sculptural chandelier anchors the breakfast area, creating a focal point within the larger open-plan kitchen. Warm oak paneling, upholstered dining chairs, and contemporary artwork introduce richness and scale, transforming an everyday gathering space into one that feels both intimate and refined.
The double-height dining room is grounded through materiality and scale. Full-height drapery softens the vertical volume, while a pair of sculptural chandeliers draws the eye upward, transforming the space into a dramatic setting for gathering and entertaining.
Custom oak millwork frames the bed wall, integrating storage, nightstands, and architectural detailing into a single composition. Layered textiles, a fully upholstered headboard, and floor-to-ceiling drapery soften the room, creating a retreat that feels both expansive and intimate.
