project scope

Located in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, this duplex apartment was transformed from a dated renovation into a layered and highly personal family home. Architectural interventions—including a reworked staircase, new openings, and custom millwork—improved the flow of the apartment while introducing warmth, character, and a stronger sense of identity. Rich materials, sculptural forms, and thoughtful moments of color create a home that feels both refined and expressive, balancing contemporary living with a sense of permanence.

WEST Village Duplex

Designed for a family of creatives, the living spaces balance structure with spontaneity. Art, books, and collected objects are woven throughout, while bold gestures in color and form bring energy to an interior intended to evolve over time.

The design centers on creating a stronger dialogue between architecture and daily life. A reworked staircase and newly introduced archway establish a more intentional transition from the entry into the living spaces beyond, while custom millwork and ceiling details bring rhythm, depth, and architectural character to the apartment.

"Create a home that feels collected rather than decorated—one where architecture, art, and everyday life could coexist naturally."

Conceived as a retreat from the pace of city life, the primary suite embraces a quieter mood. Tonal blues and softened finishes create a sense of ease, while carefully considered details bring a feeling of comfort without excess.

Organic stone, unlacquered brass, and soft architectural curves bring depth and timelessness to the bath spaces. The material palette was carefully curated to evoke a sense of understated luxury and calm.

Designed around imagination and self-expression, the room embraces color, pattern, and whimsy while providing the flexibility needed to evolve alongside its young occupant.

The kitchen introduces one of the home's strongest points of view. Denim-blue cabinetry establishes a distinct identity, balanced by natural stone and handcrafted surfaces that feel timeless rather than trend-driven.
