Because we approach the home as a cohesive whole, we generally do not take on e-design or isolated single-room projects.
Ideally, Atelier Roux is engaged at the beginning of the architectural planning process—before layouts, lighting plans, millwork, and major material decisions have been finalized. Early involvement allows the architecture, interior details, furnishings, and practical requirements of the home to be developed together. We can collaborate with an architect and builder already in place or help clients assemble the appropriate project team.
Our full-service work can include space planning, interior architectural drawings, kitchens and bathrooms, custom millwork, material and finish selections, lighting, furnishings, art, procurement, construction coordination, and final installation. The precise scope is developed around the property and each client's needs, but every element is considered part of a cohesive design.

Timelines depend on the project’s scale, construction requirements, approval process, and decision-making schedule. As a general guide, ground-up new builds typically take two to three years from architectural planning through final installation. Comprehensive renovations generally take 12 to 24 months, while full-home furnishing projects without major construction typically take 6 to 12 months. We establish a more detailed schedule once the scope and project team are understood.
Our process is designed to give clients clear opportunities to provide input without overwhelming them with every decision. Your involvement is most important during the initial briefing, scheduled design presentations, and feedback and approval milestones. We establish key meeting dates in advance and ask that feedback be provided promptly so the project can remain on schedule and within the agreed budget.
Design fees are based on the size, scope, complexity, and expected duration of the project. Furnishings, materials, and custom pieces are purchased through Atelier Roux as part of our full-service procurement process, which includes ordering, tracking, vendor coordination, delivery oversight, and installation. Following an initial consultation, we prepare a proposal outlining the recommended scope, design fees, and purchasing requirements for the project.
Atelier Roux’s full-service design fees begin at $30,000. We require a minimum purchasing investment of $150,000 for projects in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and $250,000 for projects outside the Tri-State area. These purchasing minimums apply to furnishings, materials, and custom pieces procured through Atelier Roux and do not include design fees. After an initial consultation, we prepare a tailored proposal based on the project’s size, scope, complexity, and anticipated duration.
